Frequently asked questions about this product
Compiled from manufacturer information
Does CPE510 support Wi-Fi 6?
No, CPE510 does not support Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). It supports only 802.11a/n standards on the 5 GHz band with a maximum speed of 300 Mbps. For long-range stable network performance, it is recommended to use with Wi-Fi 6-compatible devices to achieve optimal performance
Do I need a PoE switch?
No, a PoE switch is not required. CPE510 supports Passive PoE, which delivers power over LAN cable using pins +4,5 and -7,8. It can be powered by any device supporting Passive PoE, such as a PoE injector or a switch with Passive mode
Can it be mounted on a wall?
Yes, absolutely. CPE510 is designed for outdoor installation and supports wall, beam, or pole mounting. Its rugged housing, IPX5 waterproof rating, and 15kV surge protection make it suitable for use in open areas or heavy rain
Can it be used in Client Mode?
Yes, CPE510 supports Client Mode, allowing direct connection to another access point to extend your network instantly. It can be configured via Pharos Control or a web browser, with real-time monitoring of signal and network status
Do I need to install any additional software?
You must install Pharos Control 2.0.8 on Windows, Mac, or Linux to enable centralized management. The software is available for free download from the TP-Link website. This tool allows you to manage multiple devices simultaneously, monitor their status, and configure them automatically with high efficiency
Can it be used with LAG system?
Yes, the CPE510 supports Link Aggregation (LAG) configuration, which helps increase network speed and stability by combining multiple ports or connections into a single link with higher bandwidth. It works well in high-speed networks that require uninterrupted connectivity.
Can it be used with Cloud Management system?
No, it does not support direct cloud management. The CPE510 requires Pharos Control installed on a computer or server within the network, but it can be managed via web browser or SNMP. For cloud management, we recommend using TP-Link Omada Cloud-compatible models.
Can it be used with external antenna?
No, it is not necessary. The CPE510 comes with an integrated 13dBi dual-polarized antenna designed for optimal long-range signal performance, eliminating the need for additional external antennas.
